A-252 A SINGLE CENTER SERIES OF TRACHEA RESECTIONS FOR LOCALLY ADVANCED TUMOR INFILTRATION

Abstract Background Infiltration of the cervical-visceral axis in advanced thyroid carcinoma determines prognosis patients. Complete locoregional tumour resection therefore prolongs survival even presence distant metastases. Results trachea resections performed at University Medical Center (UMC) Mainz are presented and discussed with regard to literature. Methods Patients who underwent neck surgery along a time period from January 2007 December 2022 were retrospectively included study. Surgical strategy operation-associated complications documented. Overall post analysed. From 2022, single-center UMC 36 patients (16 female, 20 male) treated for locally carcinomas. Of these, 18 shaving, 15 partial 3 circular resections. Underlying histology was papillary (16/36), follicular (8/36) poorly differentiated (4/36) carcinoma, 8 other diagnoses. 10 suffered postoperative (of 5 ≥ Dindo Clavien grade 4). Tumor recurrence registered cases, whereas 19 remained free after operation (tumour persistence 12 individuals). Mean overall diagnosis 75 months, mean 31 months (mean follow-up period: months). Conclusion Trachea infiltration feasible within highly individualised treatment concepts.
